Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can my cell phone or tablet be fixed?

A. In most cases, yes!  Why buy a new device when we can turn your device to like new?

Nearly all cell phones and some tablets can be repaired at the Cell Clinic. We are known for our large lineup of repairs, as well as specialty special order repairs on cell phones, tablets drones, gaming consoles, computers, and Apple watches.

Q. What happens if you cannot fix my device -- do I still get charged?

A.  We charge a $25-$50 diagnostic fee upfront if it's not clear what the issue is with your device, and if it can be fixed.  This fee is credited from the final repair price if you go ahead with the repair.

Q. How much will it cost to repair my device?

A. Repair costs differ between makes and models of devices, or the type of device you have (i.e., cell phone, drone, etc.).  For some cell phone models, we offer two price points for screen replacements, which are dependent on the type of damage done to the screen, or the type of screen you want installed (i.e., OLED or LCD).

Q. Do your prices include labour?

A. Yes, all our repair prices include the labour fee.

Q. Do I need an appointment?

A. We offer a drop-in service so appointments aren't necessary, Repairs are done on a first-come, first-served basis. If you choose to book online, you can receive a booking discount. A booking/discount doesn't guarantee you an immediate repair -- it speeds up your check-in process and offers you a discount. We will advise you on the wait time when you arrive.

Q. How long will it take to repair my cell phone or tablet?

A. Repair times vary, depending on the type of device and work that needs to be done. The average repair is completed in 30-90 minutes - longer on busy days, and for tablet, MacBook, drone, and gaming console repairs.

Q. Can you repair a broken or cracked screen?

A. Yes, we can fix a cracked screen very quickly and often within 45-90 minutes, depending on the model. Please contact us to be sure we fix your device.

Q. What if I purchase a cell phone from you and it stops working?

A.  We offer a one-year hardware warranty (including the battery) on all pre-owned devices that we sell, as long as there is no physical damage to the part that is not working (i.e., broken screen or liquid damage).  Bring or mail your device to our store for a warranty repair. If the phone is not physically damaged, and we cannot repair the device, we will provide you with a replacement of equal value.

Q. Can you repair phones that are dropped in water?

A. Often a cell phone that has been exposed to water can be fixed. If water gets into your phone, power the device off and let it dry naturally or with a heat source like a blow dryer.  Do not put your phone in rice.  If it doesn't turn on after it's dried for 24 hours, bring it in ASAP to increase the chance of a successful repair / data recovery. See our water-damaged section for more information.

Q. Do you unlock cell phones?

A. Yes, we can unlock most cell phones if you don't have an active account with the carrier. There is no need to bring your phone to us -- please call or email for more information.

Q. What if you repair my phone and it stops working?

A. We offer a lifetime warranty on all hardware repairs, with the exception of batteries which come with a one-year warranty. In the event the part we install becomes defective, we will replace the part again free of charge.  Our warranty does not cover physical damage to the part we replaced (including liquid damage).
